So, yesterday I tried on and picked out my wedding gown! It was so much fun. I went into David's Bridal looking like my usual self in my jeans and t-shirt. The woman put me in a dressing room with a pair of shoes, a "slip" that could stand up by itself, and a corset that seemed 2 sizes too small. But, after she helped me into all of them (and ( Read more... )

Wedding? Brian has mentioned none of this (that I remember at least)!

When is the date? I could always use a road-trip to the east coast.

Brian says it's in his journal. We got engaged July 31st. We chose the date around the beginning of September.

I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure you're on the guest list, you plus a guest. :) Invitations will be sent out around July. That's Brian's job: making the invitations!

Sounds good. That's a time of the year I could probably make it out depending on work/classes.

I remember that day of trying on dresses etc. I too ended up with something totally different lol. But it was a day to remember and not just about the dress lol.

Sounds like everything is falling into place and I'm just soooo thrilled for you! :)

Oh..and good deal on the gown! Around here...thats a pretty darn good price! :)

Yes, it was so much fun. One of my better wedding planning experiences. Yeah his parents are really a drag, they are not very helpful, or exciteable. Mostly they are not doing anything to help us, or give us any money to help pay for anything, so I am trying to figure out everything myself. I'm just paying the deposits as we scrape up a couple hundred dollars together. We're paying for the flowers (from Stop & Shop), wedding cake (from Walmart), DJ (Charlies DJ $425 for 6 hours, best price I could find!) and photgrapher we're still working on (that's Brian's job.) And my mom and stepfather are paying for the hall and catering. Gotta love my mom!

As for the dress, my lovely grandma is buying it for me (shhh, that's a secret!!!), and David's Bridal is having a big sale so the gown was only $449, so the $797 price was with the shoes, undergarments, veil and tiara! I think we did great. Gotta love David's Bridal!
