This was darkly fantastic and I wasn't quite sure how you could write Buffy in this situation but honestly, this part:

“I never thought I’d have to worry about this on top of everything else.” The confession made her seem even more tiny, curled up in her sterile hospital sheets.

HUGE sucker punch and perfectly wrapped it all up. It says it all, cause really who would've thought that B would have to worry about that. Reminder that she's not infallible even to humans.
