One good thing came from staying afterschool for Physics Lab Help. They announced Mock con candidates.
Radical - Monica
Liberal - Tarang
Conservative - Karrine (sp?)
Ultracon - Alex Khiel (sp?)
Nobody I voted for won. *sad*
We should all vote ultracon this year to protest the lack of good candidates.

oh man.
ultra-con is never taken seriously anyways, so what are your greivances? that you can better mock the position than they can? do you know how stupid that sounds?
obviously it's a popularity contest, but it's not like you don't have any control over how popular you are. If someone is popular, it means they must have at least some redeeming quality about them to make others like them. and NO, no one's physical attractiveness can be the only factor that makes them popular.
why so much hate? -_-

I, for one, am too busy with more pressing matters to argue with you. Please stop shooting your mouth off. Here, I'll say it straight up. It's getting annoying.

I'm not saying that they're going to screw up the roles. I'm saying that they aren't the most qualified candidates. As far as radical goes, i'm not concerned. While monica probably was the most qualified, that doesn't go to say much. Liberal, Tarang is cool, but he by far isn't the most qualified. COnservative is where i'm completely pissed. That was by far a complete popularity contest. And ultracon... Bleh.
Making others like them doesn't correlate with being a good candidate. The best candidate is able to argue persuasively enough to sway people only by the points. This is called mock convention for a reason, not a redo of an ASB election. I want someone to EARN their victory, not just win it through original popularity.

Ryan vs. anyone would have been interesting.
Johnny vs. anyone would have been disturbing but probably funny.
