Sunday Blues

Jul 17, 2011 10:38

I really don't want to go out today. Going out on Sunday to the beach or park is always an event at our church but I just don't want to go today. I'm also a little annoyed at my niece who I will refer to as N in this journal, N was at first pretty well behaved. That is until I started giving her stuff : 1. A Hello Kitty backpack (because I needed a ( Read more... )

I feel your pain, I really do. The big consolation of the spoilt kids I have to deal with at work is I can hand them back after only a hour rather than have to put up with them for days at a time. I also have a spoilt girl, my cousin's daughter (she's also a compulsive liar but she gets that from her mother) but fortunately she's on the other side of the planet. So I don't have to deal with it.

I do think that a lot of kids just get given everything and consequently have no respect for money or sense of gratitude. I know a grown woman who was raised like this. I remember once saying that I couldn't go on holiday because I couldn't afford it and she looked at me like I was absolutely mad and said, "Why don't you just ask your parents for the money?"

I honestly don't think it even occurred to her that my parents wouldn't have the money.

Can't you tell your church friends that you don't fancy it today? Sounds like you're spreading yourself too thin!

I have no church friends, they are people that are a part of my family. The others are just my "spiritual" family members. They had to come to our house yesterday because it started to rain at the place that we were originally going to have our cook out. I kind of wish that I was on the other side of the planet.

I know what you mean. I need to be alone a lot or I go a bit insane. Literally. So unexpected enforced socialising isn't always welcome.

Yeah, I watched the younger kids (only three of them actually listened to me) and a few of them kept hugging me and placing their hands on my leg or shoulder (I was already feeling hot because I might be catching a cold or something) so that was annoying. Sometimes I want to be around people and other times I don't.

Kids are just crap, in general. Sounds like a spoilt little shit, I wouldn't have the patience to be nice to her!!

Yeah, but not all kids are evil. There are a ton of kids out there who are well behaved but people usually over look them and just assume that kids are all evil. I think the reason why my niece is like this is because she doesn't really get a lot of stuff especially on her birthdays and Christmas.
