I've discovered that my county public library stocks the whole of the Arkangel Shakespeare audio CD series.  Having just found out (thanks, Wikipedia)  that my dream casting of David Tennant as Mercutio already exists in audio, as does DT as Antipholus in Comedy of Errors, I'd had a look on Amazon and was resigning myself to splashing upwards of £ ( Read more... )

I was obviously too preoccupied (ahemHamletahem) to notice this all over the news on Friday, but Alan Bennett has donated (not sold, Ted Hughes' estate please note, but donated) his entire archive, past present and future, to the Bodleian Library.

I am absurdly cheered by this - not only by the entirely laudable and unselfish sentiments apparently ( Read more... )
