It sounds like you had a great time! And you were so lucky to randomly see at least one of the guys from the band you like ^^ I've done this a couple of times but it was always at set like autograph times so it wasn't as exciting.

Although...hearing about all the people and all the lines, this is one reason why I hate festivals and will probably never go to one in Japan. Too expensive and too many people T_T

I did!!! Well, it could have been better, but it was good nevertheless :D The problem with these freak meetings is that my brain freezes and my Japanese dies :S

I'm pretty curious about the idol events you go to though! Maybe it's because the only idols I know are the ones who appear on TV and all (the AKB48, Morning Musume types). What do these girls do?

They're similar but they're not that famous yet. There's two types of idols in Japan, but they can overlap. One is gravure, so their job is less dancing and singing and more doing DVDs and wearing bikinis and like cosplay outfits. Then there's the singing and dancing idols who are usually part of a group, and because of AKB48, most of these groups have a bunch of girls all singing and dancing together.

Most girls are aiming towards doing the singing and dancing although there are plenty of girls in the same group who are also shooting for being an actress or a talent. Regardless, to get noticed, it seems like you have to start out in gravure idoling.
