"Taemin! Hurry!" Jinki stopped running to call his younger brother. "You idiot, now we're really going to get caught! You're too slow!" He picked Taemin up and carried him on his back. Jinki was age 12 and Taemin was 7, both far too young to be crawling around on the streets
"Where's Key-hyung?" Taemin spoke quietly as Jinki ran.
"Home." Jinki was referring to the tiny shack they found behind several alleys. It was barely suitable for a shelter but it was all they had. No parents, no money... only each other.
"Hyung!" Taemin screamed as he saw the car headlights coming towards them. Jinki hadn't noticed the swirving car but it hit them anyway, throwing the both of them fifteen or so feet into the road.
The driver slammed on his brakes and stepped out. "You stupid kids! Get the fuck up! You better have money to pay for the damages to my car!" The middle aged man was polishing the bumper of his prized car. He spoke in Mandarin and neither of the boys could understand.
Taemin pushed himself up with bruised and scraped arms. He felt his head as his eyes scanned for Jinki. He was closer to the car and wasn't moving. "Jinki hyung!" Taemin stumbled over to find he had a broken leg. He was crying in pain and couldn't lift himself up.
"Hey!" The rude man came over and kicked Taemin down. "Didn't you hear me!? I said give me money to pay for the car! Or are you some stupid fucking Korean kids that don't speak Chinese?"
Taemin carefully reached into his pocket to find the knife. He never thought he would have to use it.
"Kid. Money. Now!" He came closer and pushed his foot on Taemin's chest. He resorted to using the knife, stabbing as hard as he could into the man's leg. "AAaahhhh!! My leg! You're going to die, kid! That's it!" He hobbled back to his car and sped off.
Taemin went back to Jinki. "Hyung, hyung," He sniffled. "Can you stand?"
"Ugh, I don't know. Help me." Taemin put Jinki's arm around his neck and helped him stand. The older screamed from the pain.
Taemin was scared after seeing the blood. "Okay, let's go home. One step at a time, okay?"

Key took the case out from under his oversized coat when he arrived back at 'home.' "Oh man oh man! The guys are gonna flip out when they see this!" He had managed to swipe some old guy's briefcase that happened to be full of money. Not just money, but heavy bills stacked neatly. It was clearly supposed to be used in some sort of special deal, but Key praised himself for finding it.
"Key-hyung!" He heard Taemin's sharp voice cry out in the alleyway. He quickly locked the case and hid it under their blankets.
"What, pabo? Oh, wait! You'll never gue--" Key stopped short when he saw Jinki barely standing and Taemin's battered body trying to hold him up. "What happened?" His voice shook.
"Just help me!" They worked carefully to lay Jinki in a comfortable place. Taemin slumped to his knees after placing him down.
"Yah, did you get beat up?" Key opened a bottle of water to try and clean their wounds.
"We were running and a car hit us..." Jinki could speak now that he was resting. "My leg is really hurting."
"It's broken!" Taemin was crying. Key pulled him into a hug.
"It's not broken, I can at least see that. It might be badly fractured, though." Key looked closer as if he were a doctor; he surprisingly knew a lot about the world at age 11. And although he wasn't a biological brother to Taemin and Jinki, they acted like it. "Just relax, because I have the answer to everything." Key went to retrieve the briefcase.
"I think we need to go to a hospital..." Taemin was scared; he'd seen too many things for a 7-year-old.
"Not to fear! We now have this." Key opened the case to reveal the endless wads of bills.
"Key-hyung, where did you get this!?" Taemin stood in shock.
"I found it. We're rich, guys! We can do anything we want from now on!" Key hugged Jinki a little too roughly, causing the oldest to whine.
"Isn't this sweet..." A familiar voice was speaking in Mandarin and came from the shadows.
"Who's there!?" Key stood in front of his wounded brothers.
"The brat who stole my bag and the two stupid kids that wrecked my car, all in one place!" He walked to the freightened boys smiling. "That makes things easy for me." He pointed a gun to them.
Taemin let out a scream before covering his mouth.
"What do you want?" Key had a heavy Korean accident on his Mandarin.
"Well, I'd like my money back, but that won't be quite enough. You little kids need to be punished." He fired off a bullet, intentionally missing them.
"Taemin, run!" Jinki yelled to him.
"He's right, go Taemin!" Key agreed.
"But I... I can't just..."
The fear in his eyes was devastating to Key. "For me, go!"
"Whoa! Hey! Who the fuck are you!?" The rude man spoke again, but not to the boys. A man dressed in all black appeared out of nowhere and calmly stood in front of the boys.
"Just leave." The concealed man spoke quietly.
"Hey asshole, who asked you?" He wasted no time in shooting at the secret man, but he didn't even flinch; the bullet seemed to pass right through him. "The fuck?"
"You leave me no choice." Taemin, Key and Jinki watched in amazement at their mysterious savior as he fearlessly walked toward the other man. He turned his head to look at the three boys. "Don't watch, kids." He had spoken in Korean to them. When his attention returned to his victim, he placed his hand on the man's forehead.
"Hey, what a---" He stopped speaking after just a few seconds. Had the man in black killed him just by touching him? The boys were holding onto each other in fear.
"Hey, mister!" Key was brave. "Thanks!" They were hoping that they weren't next.
"Who are you three? You're hurt." He walked over to Jinki and looked at his bleeding leg. The smell of the blood ignited his senses.
"We're just... brothers." Taemin hid his face.
"...Come with me. I'll have this guy fixed. And you can eat. But you now have to stay with me. Call me Minho." He revealed his red eyes.
"Wait, why?" Key protected the smallest of the three.
"Because I saved your lives. Now you owe me."
