This should probably go on Goodreads, but I'm too ashamed to show my face there

Finished the final book in the Odd Thomas series last night. I skipped the last two books in the series, didn't read the graphic novels or the novella, but Saint Odd had a little blurb on the front about it being the thrilling conclusion to Odd's journey, so I had to pick it up.

I have nothing to say about Odd Thomas, but I'm impressed you've managed to return to LJ for back to back entries.

What did you think of the movie?

You know, I liked it! I think I ended up watching it on an international flight or something, so I was captive audience. Still, I remember liking the casting of Odd and Stormy, and thinking they did a decent job of capturing the balance of quirkiness and awfulness that is Odd's life. I'd watch a sequel, and at least the first few eps of a tv show from the same team behind the film :P you?

My assessment is roughly the same. It definitely had a made-for-TV-movie feel, which is probably not great because I don't think it was.

No, it originally wasn't. It was supposed to be released in theaters, although I don't know if that ever happened. If memory serves, there was a lot of behind the scenes drama surrounding the film. I know it sat for a year or so, because of lawsuits between the producers or some such. I don't remember the details, but I remember the wait because it was originally advertised as coming out in October of whatever year and I remember looking for it and looking for it and it never came to the big screen.
