So...this time next week, Bri and I should be at the Supernatural convention in Toronto! I'm a little anxious about it. I look forward to the drive up and the drive back (I love road trips), but there's:
  • the matter of what we're gonna do with the car while we're in Toronto (I hate paying for parking, but it looks like it will be inescapable)
  • meeting ( Read more... )

Have a wonderful time! I hear you on anxiety about meeting people in person...most of the time, it goes okay, though.

my as yet unhealed emotional scarrage from the events of the Sunday J2 panel at NJCon. Thankfully, I have the cheapest tickets possible for TorCon, so I can skip out on the Jared and Jensen panel and not feel too bad about it. And I'm not really too worried about anyone handling themselves poorly. But still, the idea of just going remotely near that environment again is kinda putting knots in my stomach. Like, even if I'm not in there to hear it, I am just waiting for Jensen to say some fucked up shit, or to mishandle a question in such a way that he might as well have said some fucked up shit. Like there have been, what, 5 or 6 conventions since Jersey? The fucker is due.

That sounds...bad. I won't ask you to go back through it, but I'd definitely back skipping that panel.

Mom and I went to the Spy Museum the last time we were in DC, and it was amazing. One of these days, I want to send my dad to Spy Camp there ( ... )

So glad to hear that about the Spy Museum! To be honest, I've been putting it off for far too long. I almost went post-Skyfall when they announced the James Bond villains exhibit, but here we are almost a year later and I haven't made it there yet. Is it an all day kind of place?

We didn't spend all day, but that was mostly because we didn't have all day (if that makes sense). I might plan for at least a couple of hours, and maybe more if there's a special exhibit. There's so much fascinating information there. And even a baseball tie-in! :-)

Would you be traveling through Upstate New York to get to Toronto, perhaps? :-)

Probably! We're still figuring stuff out, but I think we're gonna drive overnight on the drive up, but we'll be coming back on Monday during the day. Will you be around on the 14th?

Yes I will! :-D If it turns out you can stop for a meal sometime in the afternoon, that would be wonderful. I don't have any commitments until 7:30 PM (rehearsal for Musica Spei) on Mondays.

No pressure, of course; if your schedules don't permit this I completely understand.

We just might be able to make it happen! Do you still have my email? (this username at GMAIL dot COM) Send me your cell number and I'll keep you updated on our progress! I just found out I'll have a protective order hearing on Tuesday morning, so depending on what kind of time we're making, we may or may not have time to stop for a meal in Rochester (I can't get back home too late), but hopefully we will!
