Triumphant LJ comeback, omg. I love it. Also I'm laughing because I just bitched about work (sorta) on LJ.
Sometimes I wonder if anybody in the country knows less about pro sports than I do. I have never given a shit about ANY of it, but now I'm this soccer fiend becauase of my ten-year-old, who is convinced that he's going to college on a soccer scholarship. If anybody had told me three years ago that I'd be on the sidelines muttering, "What the hell, he wasn't offsides!" I would have said they were crazy. Ah, well.

You're allowed! Plus you talked about other stuff! But I had just bitched about work in my only post from the day before, and I didn't want that to be the trend ;)

**laughs** If you know the name of even one pro sports team, then I assure you there are people who know less than you. Best of luck to that kid. I was not even thinking about what I would be doing for college when I was 10, so he's ahead of the game. Let him dream! ;) What pro soccer teams do you guys root for? I seem to know a handful of people here who are big into the European teams, for various reasons.
I'm famous for knowing the name of a team, but not being able to match it with the sport they play. Ahahahahaha. Fail.
Honestly, S doesn't watch a whole lot of soccer, because we don't have any special cable channels that would allow him to do so. When we go down to visit my parents, you can't pry him away from the matches on tv. However, he's super into Manchester United and I think he likes LA Galaxy? LOL, I'm the worst. I do know the names of all the kids on his team;)
We had a marvelous time. Here's the link to the entry I wrote about it at the time (which made me only a little misty-eyed), and here are the pictures I took while I was there.
It was a long way to go to see someone not play, but the dugout flirting was a lovely thing to watch.
