I think it was an admirable first attempt! We used sweet black cherries; I think I would be interested to try it made with Rainier cherries or more tart Michigan cherries, or tart apples.

lol, that is her OWN FAULT. I told her to move stuff to free up the counter (and I ended up moving the dish rack).

eta: we're not nerds! Jacques Pepin enlisted us to give a Julia Child receipe a go, and we rose to the challenge :P I also made her sauteed mushrooms, which I really liked actually. We just had them on pasta.

It was a little weird, not gonna lie! Since we hadn't had it before (and didn't really research it before hand), we were surprised to discover it's kind of a custard-y/bread pudding type dish. I liked it enough to want to try it again, but I would use different cherries (we used black sweet cherries - I think it would be better with tarter cherries) or apples and some cinnamon.
