eta: With the news of two upcoming Fox prime time Saturday baseball broadcasts, can anyone confirm that this means day baseball WON'T be blocked out on Extra Innings/MLB.tv this Saturday and June 26th?
I think so: Otherwise, teams avoid scheduling home games within the broadcast windows of the exclusive network broadcasts (i.e. teams will play at 1:00 Eastern or 7:00 local time on Saturdays).
That business you've quoted is actually what's been the deal - on your ordinary Saturday during the baseball season, the day baseball blackout window is from 1:10pm EST to 6:59pm EST because Fox Saturday ballgames were usually 1:35 starts or 3:05 pm starts. But with Fox airing evening games this Saturday and on June 26th, I was wondering if the blackout window would shift from earlier in the day to later (like 6:00pm to 10:00pm, or something). The A's and Giants are playing at 4:00pm EST tomorrow, and any other Saturday, that would be a blocked game. I guess we'll just have to see.
