FIRST SNOW!

I am actually very unhappy about this because it might ruin my plans to go shopping this afternoon after spending the morning and early afternoon inside and working on take-home exams. Doesn't the weather know I get cranky if I don't leave the apartment all day? (although it's stopped snowing here and just turned into rain/sleet, so maybe it got the message)

Raise your hand if the trailer for Valentine's Day just makes you want to curl up with hot chocolate and your dvd of Love, Actually.

I have not seen that trailer, but I think I just discovered what I'm doing tonight as I have both Love Actually and hot chocolate!

My first instinct was to be sad, too, but I am glad more people will get to see how awesome he is! Last year with Toronto, he JUST started to get some of the recognition he's always deserved.

I am at once ecstatic for Marco being on a team that has a shot and saddened that he is not on a team I like.

We had our first (and god-willing only) snow yesterday. Kids were crazy. We went outside. They said, "Miss! It's cold and wet!" and I had to refrain from rolling my eyes.

Hee, I saw on the news! First snowfall in 36 years, or something?

I remember it snowed down here Christmas Eve of '04 -- I was in Indiana in -18 degree weather and they were making snowmen on Galveston Island. Maybe Houston itself hasn't had a snow in that long? But Pasadena's had snow the last couple of years. I called all the kids liars when they said they'd never seen it before.

Hope he makes more of a mark in Boston than Kotsay and Kielty.

Well, Kielty had a marvelous World Series--if you're only going to get one at-bat, and see only one pitch, you might as well homer, especially in a game your team ends up winning by one run. Not a bad mark. (If he hadn't had so many injuries in 2008, there might be even more to talk about.)

Kotsay at least had his T-shirt for sale in the team store...

**laughs** That's fair. I don't think it stirs the emotions like Dave Roberts racing around the bases in the '04 ALCS, but helping your team win a World Series game en route to a championship is quite respectable. I just hope Marco has more than one Moment over the next two years.

Hee. Well, at least he'll be remembered fondly by the handful of people who bought one.
