I'm going to preface this by saying, in case anyone had any ideas otherwise, that I am NOT a feminist and disagree with a lot of their ideas

Deep thoughts from teh Emily, interesting. I don't think you're as far behind as you might think you are. Just did things in a different order than some folks; leastways, it took me until the past year to figure out a lot of things about myself too.
And life would probably be a lot easier if I was a construction worker that went out drinking with the guys on fridays and just wanted an elementary school teacher that needed to be taken care of to come home to.
People aren't gender stereotypes anymore. We've moved past that as a culture, because we always were more complex than that and we just didn't know how to admit it as a society until recently. The real complexity comes from the fact that no matter how much we move past the stereotypes, they're still in us on some level. And so most guys expect the stereotypical home maker even if they know they don't, and they clash with the independent strong qualities you have that don't, by any stretch, make you less of a woman.
So I guess you just keep being you, and hope that sooner or later that's what someone really wants.
yeah, all these things are just stereotypes, and you can be feminine and be an engineer and kick my ass at halo. Some of these conflicts are really conflicts with the past, when some old dudes who had the money and influence at the time made all this shit up because it was most convenient for them and most likely helped them get wealthier. The more you can do what you love and be yourself, the more these stereotypes erode.
I have always thought of you as very feminine and fun and cool.
