She shakes her head. "I want to become a fever dream," she answers, following him. And it's not like she has any options besides this line; what else is she good for? She has a very specific skill set.

He knows she has no other options, though. With the training she’s had, with the life she’s led thus far, it wouldn’t be possible for her to live an ordinary life. And, he knows, she doesn’t want to live one.
“In that case, you’ve come to the right place, fever girl.” He holds the door open for her, taking another sip of water.

She moves past him, glancing up at him as her body moves close enough to feel the heat of his, before she's gone out of that closeness again. Fever girl.
She can become that. A fever girl. Death in a pretty package. Yes, that's who she'll be. "Gentlemen are hard to come by here," she says, remarking on his holding doors open. "I'm not accustomed to men, other than lying to them."
She appreciates being able to be honest with him, at the very least. She wonders, god she wonders.

“I’m not accustomed to women,” he admits in turn. He’s had to get close to women for some of his missions, but for the most part spends his time in the company of other men. On the occasions when he does interact with women, his chivalry is part of the act. Apparently, these habits carry into other aspects of his life. Trouble. He knew the moment he looked at her she would cause him trouble.

She smiles a little as the sun hits her face. There are some small joys she still has, even with her training, and the sun, the warmth, is one of those things. But the smile is quickly tucked away, lest he think he's found a weakness in her, and she clears her throat. "Most of the other...recruits...are bursting at the seams to...interact with men," she says. But she's waited. She's not got that particular silliness in her head. "I fear for you, if you enter the Red Rooms."
