In the U.S. if you make any sort of political donation it becomes public record. Someone just decided to pair that with googlemaps. As far as I know nothing is being done with the names aside from putting them on googlemaps. I don't think anyone is writing letters to these people or anything.

Personally I wrote down the names of the doctors and lawyers that donated near the city I live and now won't ever go to them.
