Porn could be informative. Maybe the instruction to draw Buffy closer to Angel just meant he was physically closer (the big stalker). And Spike has her back.
Xander saying what he said I'm OK with in context. It's a pattern from Buffy's perspective but in this case, whether or not he was right, his version would be better for them both to accept as canon (given the Dawn thing).
