Yes, I love how Echo and Claire are so much the mirrors of each other in this episode. (You caught more than I did; I really need to watch it again.) I'm so miffed it won't be able to continue through more than a few scattered episodes!
I’ve always liked that it’s institutional, rape culture not just rape.
Liked isn't the word, but I know what you mean. That's one moment I suppose where I really do feel for Echo - all she wants to be is 'herself' again, where as everyone else around her wants her to become someone different, or the selection of people she was before, something other that conveniences them. And I love that's she's fighting against that rape culture, even if she does fall into slightly too many second-wave traps for me, ie. declaring that everyone else will stop performing for the patriarchy too. Without asking.

Although technically I suppose they don't need Claire specifically to be the counterpoint to Echo, it could be any of her imprints wanting to be dominant or free but that would take some acting chops and Claire already has a special relationship with people-not-Echo that makes her more than just a story device.
