I really enjoyed the article you linked to. Although it glosses over the weaknesses of many of the anti-TDS articles (and offers praise for that gross, spittle-flecked Tiger Beatdown nonsense), it nicely cuts sums it up

"I never thought I would say this, but - Jesus, enough feminist response to pop culture, already." it's a horrible thing to say, but it's really heartfelt sometimes -_- I think it was interesting what a huge phenomenon this discussion became (links to the Daily Show women's response in particular were reposted by Wil Wheaton on twitter, and by a few of my male geek friends on facebook which I found...I don't know honestly. A bit surprising yet gratifying?). I'm still stubbornly on the fence when it comes to Munn herself (what with recent events, I haven't even seen the latest TDS that she had a segment on). As for Sam & Kristen, I think they are both gorgeous and brilliant as well - I especially don't understand why Kristen went by the wayside this past year. I hope it was because of her own desire to pursue other projects, but I really miss her

The only point I'll really grant the detractors of TDS's response is that yeah, they didn't particularly address the fact that Irin Carmon wasn't saying TDS lacked women in general, she was saying TDS lacked women writers and correspondents (although she overlooked the fact several of the producers are women). Still, I can appreciate getting looked over when you have a shit job. I was also really disgusted when I read people that I'm sure THOUGHT they were fighting racism who said "Yeah, we know the jobs that the people of color there do!" (particularly since one of the aforementioned female producers, Jennifer Flanz, is a person of color). I may really dislike Olivia Munn's views, but I have to say, I'm almost rooting for her out of spite-- my jaw kinda dropped at the "We know how SHE got the job!" insinuations: Really? Seriously? You think she had sex with the casting agent (who I believe is a woman, but-- you know what? Mute point.) and/or got hired "for her looks"? So fuckin' stupid

Yup, he came up to the desk in between takes and looked at the script, and at one point was dancing around telling some sort of story that made Stephen laugh XD it was glorious. I'll write up a more thorough report tomorrow, but I'm beat tonight :p
