I just drove by six or seven cop cars on my way down Carlbern. Three were parked in different places along the road, lights flashing, spot lights pointed at houses. Lock your doors and secure your windows, please. There's been a string of burglaries in Fairfax County. Seven homes were robbed (or attempted) that night, bringing the total to 53 incidents of burglary. One of the attempted break-ins was in your neighborhood. Apparently K9 units were called in to assist in the search as was a police helicopter. I don't know the outcome. Please be careful.

Note: I gathered the above details from a message board dedicated to local happenings. It may or may not be accurate. The absolute authoritative source does not come out until Friday, when the weekly Fairfax County Police Incident Report is published. I'll post back when the new one comes out.

Pulled from page 4: BURGLARY: A home in the 14800 block of Carlbern Road was burglarized on Tuesday,
September 28 some time between 8:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Nothing appeared to be missing from
inside the home. The suspect was described as white, between 17 and 19 years old and about 5
feet 10 inches tall and 185 pounds, wearing a blue, striped shirt and pants.
