I got a Facebook account. I feel like a failure....but, you know, it just kind of happened....click the link, supply the info, and before you know it...ahhh!

I started re-reading Crime and Punishment for no particular reason. I also skimmed the end and it made me feel so happy and like crying at the same time. What an amazing book ( Read more... )

I forgive you for the Facebook. 'twas beyond human control.

But I dislike this essayist guy right away without even having read Coriolanus, because I've read way too many Shakespeare essays by people like him and it makes me grrrr. (Especially Merchant of Venice essays.)

Though if it makes you feel any better, I initially wrote "Merchant of Venus" just now. D'oh.

Yes, it reminded me of Merchant of Venice essays too. Somehow both those plays seem to bring out the best self-righteousness in people. And I suppose Coriolanus and Shylock are love-it-or-hate-it characters. On the other hand, hardly anyone loves Coriolanus.

Though in this case I suppose I'll have to forgive him because he's been dead so long.
