I've been trying to articulate some current thoughts into an entry but the words aren't coming, at least not to my satisfaction. The general gist is that I deeply believe in the sanctity of life but I am appalled at the hypocrisy of many who claim to agree with my position. How do you believe suicide is looked at in the afterlife? Is the person dammed? And what about euthaniasia?

I agree. It seems that the Pro-Lifers are the same ones who support the war. There were lots of anti-abortion rallies lately because they're trying to make abortion completely illegal. I'm in an odd position because I don't agree with abortion but I also don't agree with making it illegal. I could try for an hour to explain that, but the point is that I wouldn't wear a Pro-Choice tee shirt, so I wanted to gather a group to wear anti-war "sanctity of life" shirts.

Consistency is always good. Euthenasia makes me think of Amanda in For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls.

I'm very much anti-abortion. Euthanasia (did I spell that right?) is fine, though, because the person destroying their own life actually has a choice, whereas, with an abortion, you have no idea what the baby might be. For example, he could be the next Jordan Rudess or Albert Einstein or something.

What if the treatment works? What about medications that let people lead lives others think as normal? Are you just talking about life support?
