I've always thought that humid summers are a million times worse than dry ones. It may be hot, but at least the air isn't like suffocating you. Anyway, yeah. I'm in winter now. Cheers for Kate!
Living in Florida, where the hot, humid, thunderstormy summer lasts approximately six months and includes hurricanes and mosquitoes the size of your fist? Yeah, summer is definitely the worst season.
I think you just described Queensland further north from me (I am thankfully in the subtropics rather than up somewhere north of the Tropic of Capricorn like Cairns or Townsville). I haven't a damn clue why my mother would like to move up there.
Well, I'll agree that summer is the worst time of the year...
To be more specific, it's the worst time of the year when it's summer where you are at, because that means it's winter here. Which is without a doubt the season I hate the worst.
I prefer spring (the best season) and autumn to either summer or winter, but between the latter, I'd rather have to put up with a little heat rather than freeze to death.

You can often feel in advance when a storm's coming though!

Though a Kapiti Coast summer pretty closely equates to a Queensland spring, if I remember summer back home correctly.
