For your further listening pleasure ...

Yesterday, I provided free music from Kiwi bands, and as promised, today, here's an assortment of music from the rest of the world for you to wrap your ears around. Unlike yesterday, there are no M4A files, just MP3s, so there shouldn't be any playability issues for anyone.

Music from other parts of the world! )

the living end, u2, muse, dream theater, joy division, queen, porcupine tree, delays, dire straits, music

You forgot to say that Joy Division were the inspiration for A Day Without Me.

I'll wipe my eyes and let go of my sorrow for forgetting that.

Very haunting, eerie music. Exceptional too.

You neglected a ton of non-english-speaking bands!
Bløf, they're a Nederlandstalige ( Dutch, From the Netherlands... whatever you wanna say lol ) band ( ... )

Agh, sorry for the slow reply. I've a terrible habit of losing comments in the insanity of my inbox! Need to clean it out one day ...

I am REALLY enjoying the songs you put up! Chapeaumelon's cover of My Generation is one of the coolest things I have heard, and Bløf's Dichterbij Dan Ooit was exceptional. I don't have much non-English music, but it's always interesting because without a lyrics translation, you have to focus on the music, the vocal harmonies, and the general atmosphere and emotion conveyed by a song. Dichterbij Dan Ooit moved me just through it's general feel, and when I looked up the lyrics, I knew why.

I only discovered them yesterday. Must say I love their song about naming streets, and The Mosquito's a pretty cool rocker. ;)

I'll second all those hoorays, with a particularly big HOORAY for U2! And I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the Porcupine Tree stuff! I'll probably be uploading some more stuff soon ... especially as I forgot to include Midnight Oil in this post. I even had Forgotten Years and Blue Sky Mine ready to go!

WOOOOHOOOOOO FOR THE LETTER 'U' AND NUMBER TWO!

Great to hear that about Porcupine Tree! I suppose I'll have to put more up for you. I think Deadwing is absolutely the best album released so far this year, though I have a hard time deciding whether I prefer it or In Absentia (at the moment, Deadwing). Out of the four songs I uploaded, what's your favourite?

Technically LaBrie is Canadian.

Ah, indeed, I forgot that. This post definitely had a Commonwealth flavour then.
