It seems that the rumors of the death of political humor in Russia have been greatly exaggerated. Possibly in anticipation of the return of "sroka" (prison time) for the telling of political jokes, the new generation of Russians is revolutionizing the political anecdote.

Heh! the Chuck-Norris-factoid-style Putin jokes are nicely surreal -- and, you're right, like nothing I've seen before... Also, "Путина бояться - в сортир не ходить" is great -- haven't heard that one before (well, haven't heard any non-recylced, non-KGB Putin jokes, actually, except for the Vovochka one you quote in #7 (or 8). I suspected it was the curiously bleak, colourless persona of his that made all humour slide right off...
