Stampy was very much regretting having opened his big mouth on the network - but he'd just been confused by the posting! And he hadn't seen anything telling him not too until he'd already spoken and by then things were getting out of hand. And even though he'd made a few friends in the hostel, somehow it didn't seem very safe, seeing as that was where he'd made contact...

Suffice it to say, his roommates were very surprise to see him bolt out of the room, even knowing his demeanor.

After running aimlessly for the sake of running, of staying ahead of whatever that voice was that wanted to do all sorts of bad things to him, Stampy finally received an offer of haven and was quick to adjust his path towards it. The thought of it being a trap hadn't even crossed his processor; it was safety, pure and simple, and anything was better than waiting for the voice to catch up with him!

And here - the coordinates. He would have taken a moment to look it over if he wasn't so intent on getting in and away and he hesitated only a moment before ( ... )

The news feeds had little to add: cleanup was slow, would continue, and new information would be offered when it was had to give. Pathetic. Rod could think of a dozen ways he would have handled this better- but he wasn't running the place, and he knew that. Frankly, he had no interest in running it. Coming up with how to do it better was just a pasttime.

When there was a knock Rod opened the door, expecting Stampy to be - well, standing outside. He hadn't at all planned for the mech to be in his alt mode and to pratically skid past his legs and into the overlarge (and very empty) apartment. "Hey now!" He shook his head and shut (and sealed) the door, crossing back to the smaller mech and crossing his arms over his chest. "Unless you told him where you was headin, you're bout as safe as safe gets. Take a few kliks an settle now." He shrugged, tilting his head to gesture to the empty apartment. "Ain't much, but it's got a coupla berths an a recharge bay. You're welcome to it."

Big, empty, few places to hide but it was somewhere and Stampy was quick to find a piece of furniture to duck under. Seeing as he was only eight feet, the table dwarfed him, but it offered a bit of shelter - perhaps more to soothe his mind, if nothing else.

Paws on one of the table legs, he blinked up at Rod - that was his name, right? He thought he remembered seeing him on other posts of the network - and nodded. "Y-yessir. T-thank you for letting me stay I won't be a bother really promise I j-just didn't feel safe back home and-!"

He managed to cut himself off, ears drooping a bit.

Rod sighed and leaned against the wall nearest the table, looking down at the stuttering bot. "Hey, ain't no bother havin you round, I gots the space an sounded like you could use a spot to put your head for a few cycles. Now ain't no reason to keep hidin - jus you an me here, an I ain't gonna hurt you none. So what's got you runnin in the first place?" He did his best to keep his voice friendly - thankfully he'd had a lot of practice since getting stuck here.

The mech was a bit of a surprise, all told. Rodimus was used to bots being this frightened in front of Prime, but being this afraid of a voice at the other side of a comm?
Obviously Stampy wasn't much of a fighter.
