The Heap was a place where Mikaela could go and clear her head. It was a strange thought mostly due to the nature of the place and the fact that no one regarded it as any kind of solace except probably her.

That's fine. She'd rather be alone right now, anyway.

She's got a large vehicle with her and she's loading it full of scrap parts, thick gloves on her hands that covered her forearms and a jumpsuit made out of some combination of rubber and polyurethane.

She's just a human, rummaging in a scrap heap where the worst of the worst go - but she's not afraid.

It wasn't particularly possible for a Cybertronian to sneak up on a human, not without a massive amount of preparation. For Megatron, especially, quiet was not an option...thus it was that Mikaela would hear him rumbling along, crushing rubble beneath his treads from a few 'blocks' on.

At first, he doesn't recognise her, standing up and looking around, just....considering.

When he finally does, its almost with a smile that he approaches as she works.

"It's beautiful here...don't you think?"

The sound is just white noise to her - she hears the same thing all day long in and out and she has to wonder if she's permanently damaged her hearing with all the roaring in and out of her shop.

There's no acknowledgement at first - mainly because she's aware of his presence and proximity to her as she tosses a battered old crankshaft into the open bin attached to the work truck she's brought down with her.

At least, not until he speaks, then she turns and looks up - and up and up - at him, lifting an arm to brush hair away from her face.

"....Yeah. It is. Didn't think anyone else thought that but me."

"Its the dark. The quiet." Aware of how easily it was to shatter the silence, he dug his hand into the heap, unearthing new piles of objects from underneath the surface, watching bright metal and rust sift through his fingers.

"It is the closest thing to 'familiar' that the Nexus has, for me." Beyond the Hollow, and it had begun to feel dark and quiet, too. "The levels change. They are populated by change, and fed on change. New stores, new entertainments, new tenants." New mechs. New allies. Nothing stayed the same...

"Except here. Its always dark, here. Its always quiet." And he didn't even have his park, now, to retreat to. The landscape was changing too much.

Zone 7, random street what savedubywarping November 23 2011, 21:40:30 UTC
If you were engaging in... less than legal entertainment (like liberating overcharged casino-goers of their winnings, say) you didn't get further up from Zone 6 after your deed was done, you went downwards.

So that's exactly what Skywarp's doing after hitting some (un)lucky piece of scrap on the helm after warping in right behind them, shook them down, took what there was to take... and then some other things too, because why not, and then quickly warped several times until he'd gotten into the lower parts of Zone 7.

Putting away most of the things, he nonetheless kept a few credit chips out, tossing them into the air as he got out of the alley, grinning. And almost walked right into someone as soon as he got into the street outside.

"Hey, watch--- Er. Uh, sorry 'bout that." Skywarp stared, and then backed off, hoping Megatron wouldn't take too badly to almost being walked into. Could be worse. Could have warped in right in front of him and not been able to avoid a collision.

Zone 7, recently, had become a hotspot of activity.

He didn't mind that, of course. With Slipstream's help, he'd been able to buy up a large amount of 'empty' houses for relatively cheap, including the 'charity' he'd kicked in for the displaced. He'd felt bad for them, in a way. Many mechs arrived to the Nexus from the middle of the war...but there were hundreds more arriving from when Cybertron was already long dead, or from when Cybertron was thriving. Having to build a new life, here...

...it was easy for no one.

It was one of the reasons you had to watch out for yourself, the further down you went. He'd seen the Transtechs doing nothing to change this...accepting, albeit with regret, that any who ended up down here were a lost cause. Megatron did not think this...

But he did, instantly, react to what his instincts thought was an attack, reaching out to grab the approaching Seeker by the throat.

A moment later, he laughed.

"Skywarp. You're looking less...charming...than last time we met."

I certainly try~ savedubywarping November 24 2011, 17:09:04 UTC
Almost getting grabbed by the throat wasn't that unexpected, really, even if it's never pleasant, but he can take it. Especially as he hadn't really angered Megatron. The mention of that thing from a few weeks back wasn't something he'd like to dwell on, however, brought up a quick grimace.

"Ugh. Thankfully, yeah. That ain't... somethin' I'd like to do again." No flying, no warping, no actual built-in weapons and all that squishiness. And being so small. Having random people rush to do as he asked hadn't really made up for it.

... Wait. Skywarp scowled slightly; had he technically been kind of insulted? He was totally... No, he didn't really want to compare himself with a/being human.

"Goin' somewhere?"

Implicitly offering to take him there, if asked, even if Skywarp wasn't exactly intentionally offering.

"I cannot argue the sentiment." Megatron shuddered at his own memory of being human and took a step back, allowing Skywarp room. This was, beyond when he'd been a Princess, the first time they'd actually met, face to face. There were certainly resemblances to the Skywarp of his world, he couldn't deny it, though neither could he deny the differences, or the relation to the Starscream he was continually at odds with.

It was like seeing a mech after an upgrade. It was still them...but not.

"It is a wonder we don't just point our most powerful lasers at Earth and let them do the work. I'm always impressed at what manages to 'evolve.'" He gestured on the path that he was taking, implicitly inviting Skywarp to continue on it with him. "I am heading for the heap. Have you ever gone?"

Zone 4, not far from the Point. Her warehouse is close to it. ^^; vision_in_stone November 25 2011, 02:04:49 UTC
Toph had helped Megamind redo the Point, actually. And had certainly noticed when someone started rearranging it. Undoing her work. But really, it wasn't that big of a deal. Working out the landscaping had been some of the easiest paid work she'd ever done, and the statues, well. Pff. Easy peasy. Boring, now ( ... )

What she heard, instead of weapons fire, was applause.

Large, metallic applause, but applause nonetheless.

"A human who understands the value of showmanship, while still getting the job done. Most impressive."

She looked young, if he was judging right. Young, and powerful, and out of place in his environment. It wasn't often he came to the Lookout Point these days, since it had changed...

...but it was often enough to notice these things, and to notice why the statues had formed in the first place.

Toph turned to face the newcomer, sliding automatically into an Earthbending stance to be ready for anything he could throw at her. She held it, until she was sure he wasn't going to attack.

"Yeah, well. It's not like he was trying anything new. Oh, let's step on the human, nobody cares about them. Pffft, idiots. One of these days I might just have to do worse than give them a limp, if it keeps up. So annoying." Even a blind girl could eyeroll, which is exactly what she was doing, so hard he'd be able to see it from where he was.

"Magnum, right?" She remembered that voice from the network.
