The doors readily admit you once you approach them. Strange, considering Wheatley had mentioned something about being stuck. Regardless, there's no trouble passing through the rather plain, pristine white lobby and into a long corridor. Eventually you come to a large room, furnished with only a chair and a small coffee table. Oh, there's also a small drawer set in the wall, just beside the entryway.

The moment the doorway is cleared, the hatch slides shut behind you. Not to fret though, there's another door directly in front of you. But before you take a step further, there's a click from the overhead speaker, and an automated voice speaks up.

"Welcome to the Aperture Science Testing and Application Center! On behalf of our non-existant staff, we here at Aperture Science would like to thank you for taking the time to offer yourself as a willing subject for further study and development of science. As we are underhanded in assistants, we will waive legal procedures such as liability forms and the listing of ( ... )

The original network communication... made no sense. Who is 'her'? What is this Aperture Science Testing and Application Center? None of her omni-tool research told her anything and she misses the Citadel codex which had an entry on everything that she usually needs information on ( ... )

There's no response to the woman's demanding inquiry. The recordings were never meant to be interactive, nor were they ever all that helpful.

Hopefully the elevator is to Shepard's approval, shuttling down immediately after she's stepped inside, a smooth ride that lasts all of thirty seconds. It comes to a stop, door sliding open into a circular room with but one exit- that leading to a slightly darkened corridor with a short flight of steps that leads to a sealed hatch. This hatch slides open once approached, and not several feet past the doorway lies the first Emancipation Grill before entering the testing chamber.

Shepard will probably feel a brief jolt should she choose to pass through. Hopefully nothing explodes on her.

The chamber itself, once entered, is rather empty and plain. There's another doorway across the room, except it's on a pretty tall ledge, and there don't appear to be any stairs. There is, however, a bright red beam that shoots out from one side of the room to the other. There ( ... )

She steps out of the elevator--which surprisingly hadn't been bad--feeling naked without her weapons and instinctively her hand strays to where her pistol should be. Shepard curses and slowly heads up the steps to eye the first of the Emancipation Grills ( ... )

"Welcome, brave Cybertronian, and-or other gargantuan lifeform, to the Aperture Science Testing and Application Center! If you feel you do not classify under either of the aforementioned, please exit and follow the arrows to the designated entrance for organics."

At least the greeting is friendly enough as you step through and into the large, empty receiving room. On the other side is a doorway, which leads directly into an elevator. As it takes you down, the automated voice speaks up again.

"We here at Aperture Science would like to thank you for your willingness to participate in our testing procedures. You should feel proud knowing that you are among the first of your kind to be monitored for these tests. Please rest assured, all results are recorded and will provide helpful incite for future participants.     The elevator finally comes to a stop, and the doors slide open to admit you into another room. Another doorway lies just ahead. Within the room itself is a large block, presumably to be used as a bench ( ... )

"Wheatley?" Wing hadn't actually met the small...creature, but he recognized a cry for help. And that audio was actually chilling. Something sinister was going on here, and someone needed help.

And Wing desperately needs to be helpful, right now. He's felt unbalanced since leaving the Outworlder prison, whipsawed between Perceptor and Magnum and...whatever he could still believe in.

But Wing is a law-abiding mech, after all, so he carefully stores his two small blades in the appropriate cubby. The voice gives him pause. Testing? He's not here for testing.

Is he?

Wavering won't help Wheatley, however. And the poor thing sounded in need of help. He steps through the Grill, feeling a sudden sharp shock along his back, shocking along the folded panels of his wings.

That...wasn't good.

There's no response, and even the automated voice has fallen silent for the time being. That probably won't last for very long ( ... )

Well, this room certainly is awkwardly designed, Wing thinks. He steps into the room, after stepping on and off the floor-button first, looking around, contemplatively.

He circles the podium. "Wheatley? I am here to help."

No response.

He moves over to the cube, giving it a nudge, testing its weight. Perhaps, he thinks, he can lift it to place it on the button by the entrance?

Perhaps you felt that there was little point in taking the direct entrances into the facilities. You decided to get creative and make your own entrance. Well, congratulations. You've just found yourself in one of the testing chambers. It looks pretty empty, but as luck would have it, you at least managed to find a relatively safe spot to set foot upon. Several feet to the left would have put you into the pit of water, and you wouldn't have wanted to go for a swim in that. For one, it doesn't look very sanitary. It's generally a good idea not to play around in acidic water anyway. Water fills much of this chamber, and there's quite a distance between where you stand and the platform across- which also happens to have a doorway ( ... )

And Skywarp gets himself in a mess.. as usual... phobiaphob November 19 2011, 16:16:31 UTC
Skywarp had been out for a fly doing random errands for his brother, Dirge and the poor bot was on his way home when suddenly something clipped his right wing. He was sent spinning through the air towards the ground. Of course a normal seeker would have been able to pull out of the fall but this is Skywarp and he's too busy freaking out to think of the logical thing to do to save himself ( ... )

Poor Skywarp iam_not_amoron November 19 2011, 22:46:37 UTC
Oh, the water's probably not contaminated since it tends to deteriorate anything that falls in. Perfectly safe in that regard, Skywarp!

The button clicks, and from above it deposits a cube. Watch your head! Hopefully it doesn't tumble off the edge of the platform- because then it will quickly prove why the water is probably best avoided. Don't worry though, there's always more cubes were that one came from.

About the same time that Skywarp stumbles, the automated voice clicks on. "Warning, unauthorized entry detected. There has been a breach in testing chamber 12. Unauthorized tester, please stand by for emergency repairs. Testing will commence immediately."

The wall shudders, and then it seems like it comes alive as panels slide back and mechanized arms come forth, shifting and pulling the broken paneling while the floor nearby opens up to provide new panels for installation. Skywarp's exit is quickly vanishing.

Yes, poor Skywarp, indeed. phobiaphob November 26 2011, 13:13:26 UTC
The black and purple mech had just about regained his footing when the cube dropped and somehow he caught it. Of course there was lot of fumbling and juggling of it about and none of it was very graceful.

The automated voice sounded and the poor mech clung to that cube in fear. "AHHHHHHH!!"

He looked from side to side in a blind panic not knowing what to do but knowing he was scared. Strange buttons, ceiling cubes, voices talking about testing! Oh, he had to get out of this place!

Activating his thrusters he soared across to the door he spotted when he first came in, no way was he going the other way to deal with the moving room! No way, couldn't make even if you tried. He made it to the door still clutching the cube and thre himself on the other side of the door hoping to escape this crazy place soon.
