The end of a work day for Ratchet was usually spent by himself in the clinic, doing the closing datalogs and making sure everything was cleaned up and put away. It was quiet and a good time to decompress. And even better, he didn't have to worry about the Arena this night; there wasn't anything on tonight that would need his experience. He could just go home and relax. Maybe see if he could coax Wheeljack or Jazz out somewhere.

The last thing he expected was for Arena business to come to himWhen the knock came, it didn't even seem like it should have been something to check the security feed over. After all, it wasn't unheard of for someone to come by after hours because they'd just missed closing time. He didn't even have the security shutters in place yet ( ... )

Compared to the last time Ratchet had seen Megatron- 'his' Megatron- in person, a broken hand and some scuffed up armor might as well be the picture of perfect health. He frowns at the hand presented to him, unconsciously cataloging the visible damage because it was a far sight better to look at than that damn smirk. He didn't trust it- had never trusted it. Even before the brands and the factions.

But this wasn't about that and as much as it scraped him the wrong way, he couldn't get himself to just slam the doors in Megatron's face and tell him to take a hike. He wasn't sure if that made him a coward or not.

"Lucky you, huh?" he grumbled, finally looking up at the Decepticon with as much of his resolve as he could muster. Reluctantly, he stepped aside to give the larger mech room to enter. "Get in before the TransTechs yank you off the street for breaking curfew."

"I find my fortunes greatly increase when I stack the odds in my favor. You...on the other hand..."

He stepped inside, curious to see how much had stayed the same, pausing to glance down at Ratchet as he entered.

"...were a marvelous coincidence. Glit had a grudging respect for Ratchets...which, of course, means that you actually do good work."

There was more than a bit of surprise at the fact that Ratchet was letting him in, despite the 'odds' that he had stacked. Treating anyone who was injured was one thing...treating the leader of the opposing faction was something else entirely.

"I thought I'd see it for myself." He offered the hand to Ratchet to inspect.
