Starscream actually hadn't meant to be late. He would not confirm that or apologize to Skyfire though -- as it was not in his nature to do so. He just got caught up in a lot of different things and it really was his own negligence. ... Another thing he would not admit to.

So when he finally arrived he would stroll in almost causally, like he had planned it all from the start. It was all part of the plan.

And like the ever overconfident Seeker that he was, his body language certainly showed it. He moved with a certain air that said all eyes should be on him.

And really they should have because once he settled his gaze on Skyfire at the bar and started to make his way over to the larger jet they might have missed a stunning display of grace.

For right before he made it to the chair right beside Skyfire he would trip on a random piece of scrap that just happened to be on the floor. He slipped forward and practically crashed into the chair, Skyfire, and the bar before them.

"Ow..."

So much for confidence.

Staring at the door glumly, Skyfire was surprised to see Starscream finally enter, unmistakable by his colors and haughty body posture. He still didn't look quite the same as the one the shuttle knew back in his own Universe- mainly it was the slightly different body shape. But everything else had proved to identical.

His large flat wings perked up as Starscream made his way over, garnering appreciative glances from some of the other mechs sitting nearby. Skyfire opened his mouth to offer a greeting when the jet's foot caught on something and very suddenly he had a lap full of flailing seeker.

"S-starscream! Oh my- Uhm, hold on," he stuttered, gently lifting him and placing him back upright. This...was getting awkward already. Skyfire hoped quietly that Starscream wouldn't throw a fit about his little mistake.

If there was ever a moment Starscream would be embarrassed, this would be it. After Skyfire had helped him up, he took a quick step backwards. He brought up a finger and pointed it slightly at the larger mech.

"Not ... one ... word," he spoke rather evenly. He was going to pretend the little spectacle never happened and he'd rather Skyfire did the same.

He took a seat beside the large Autobot and desperately tried to ignore any glances or looks he might have been getting by the patrons around them. If he was still bothered by it, he made no visual indication.

"Ah ... I did not mean to be this late," he went on to explain, "I got caught up in something. But as the humans would say .. I prefer to think of it as being fashionably late." He turned slightly to Skyfire.

Skyfire coughed and put his hand in front of his face to hide the little smile he couldn't keep from his lips. "I didn't see anything," he assured the narcissistic jet.

He was surprised Starscream even bothered to mention his lateness- considering his former tactic had been to pretend it didn't matter how long he'd kept the other waiting.

"You're always fashionable- whether you're late or not," Skyfire laughed, big wings lifting. "What was it you were busy with?"
