[Slipstream is in her cube of an apartment, grading ESL student papers. This is to say she is sitting at a narrow workstation, before a grill-covered window, adjacent an age-patinated wall hung with a video skyscape, with a human-scale oscillating fan moving air over her wings; getting processor lag from the amounts of awkward in the student work, ( Read more... )

[...Interesting, but she's not about to pass up a chance to make herself invaluable.]

What kind of parts?

[Slipstream hesitates in answering, as she tries to calculate the best approach, but she doesn't have enough data on Mikaela to be sure of anything. She goes with something vague, and tries to sound casual about it.]

Let's say some bots are prone to a specific type of injury, and interested in obtaining a bulk order of the same type of part. Your shop might be able to order from a local manufacturer in order to supply these bots.

I might be able to, yes.

[She's being just as careful. You never knew who'd want to rat you out to authorities.]

What kind of injury are we talking about here?

We might say they are involved in activities that tend to damage non-metal parts: cockpit canopies, headlights, optics...they go through optics, especially.

Can you handle something like that?

[It's difficult to study her surroundings while the golden hook in her talons beckons his attention. He had been wanting something like it for a while now for...special occasions.]

Nice piece ya got there.

[He drawled, feigning moderate interest, forcing his attention from the trinket, just long enough to take in elusive clone's civilian setting. Quite a change from roaming the skies of Detroit. Now she's easier to track down, if need be.]

I got your items. [They had been easy pickings from the trash heaps at the arena. All it took was his special brand of modifying to make them rare-colored. She won't know the difference. He's just that good.]

How's this trade gonna go down?

[Slipstream starts to suggest the Crystal Widow's Cafe Cybertronian, where she's previously conducted business meetings; her enameled lip components round in advance of pronouncing "Widow's Cafe". But, not trusting the bounty hunter, she names a place with even more escape routes.]

Zone 4. The markets.

[Slipstream encrypts the video from this point; she's not an expert, but she's comfortable with data, and gambling that Dirge isn't better at hacking these systems than she is.]

Show me the merchandise.

[He sees the hesitation on her lips, and this makes him smile. She's being cautious, which means his reputation still holds outside of their time stream. Their meeting should prove interesting.]

Marketplace. That's a nice and safe, public place. S'matter Lil' Sister...[He smirks] Scared?

[He pulls two pair of optics from subspace, one amber, one magenta, holding them up to be viewed, fingers teasing over the pristine glass. He has to admit their some of the best knock-offs he's pulled off.]

You're not talking to the Coward or Ego, here. You don't like the markets? Lots of commodities being exchanged. Logical enough meeting place.

[Slipstream studies the video feed of the optics, and pouts slightly.]

Those should do.

[She'd hoped for purple, but she is aware she never specified exact color, and the amber and magenta are rarer than the more standard blue and red.]

((ooc: OK if this goes to action/in-person, here, at some point?))
