[Actionspam/Video - Demonstration in the Lightning Tag arena]

Jul 02, 2010 00:14

Normally, the massive Lightning Tag stadium at one end of Calibiri Park in Zone 1 is something of a fortress. It's hard to get into without a ticket or special permission, especially when there's not a match in progress. Today, though, the gates stand open, and there are mechs on stands outside them, calling for one and all to come on in and see ( Read more... )

[Having abandoned the spectacle of the tree in disgust, Thundercracker found himself drawn to the announcement of some kind of aerial display. It turned out to be a sport, one that was supposedly very popular in the Nexus. His interest was piqued right up until 'THE ILLUSTRIOUS STARSCREAM, FOUNDER OF OUR GREAT SPORT' was introduced.

And there he was. The Starscream from his universe strutting out amongst the other two players, looking as smug and pleased with himself as ever. The pure showmanship made Thundercracker want to purge. What a mockery this was after seeing Starscream lead armiesStill, the blue seeker stayed and watched, paying close attention. He was unable to find fault in the sport itself or the impressive rigs and stellar players. There wasn't anything wrong with what Starscream had created... it was just the simple fact that this Starscream was nothing more than a rich bureaucrat that made Thundercracker's energon continue to boil. And if he was being honest, it was also how slagging satisfied he was with it ( ... )

I concede that he may have lost sight of it. That is why I could understand the Starscream of my time's motives for wanting him deposed.

[Toys with his cube awkwardly]

Makes a certain amount of sense, yeah. [It's a concession he's not happy to make.]

Although personally, I prefer working within the system to attempting to topple it entirely.

[TC raised an optic ridge]

Are you going to tell me that's what you're doing with all this buisnessmech stuff?

[He smirks crookedly.] Something like that.

[Yes, he did just use that word]

[And it sends a jolt through Starscream to hear it, his wings twitching noticeably. He glances over at Thundercracker, then away, fighting to control himself. Stupid to react like this. It's just a word.]

The mistake new imports always make in this city is thinking the Transtechs' convictions of superiority are unfounded. Stay here long enough, and you learn that they're not. I don't think there's been a rebellion yet that came anywhere near succeeding.

You try to fight them, you lose. [He shrugged as he said it, stating it like the simple fact it was to him, and sipped at his cube.]

...But that doesn't mean you have to be powerless. [And now his smirk returned.] And there's nothing the Transtechs like quite so much as lowtech novelty. Gives 'em a little thrill when we surprise them, when we come up with interesting things, like a pet that proves better trained than you'd thought it would be.

And they reward their pets, when they're pleased with them.

Huge tech advantage... [Much different than their war with the autobots, where at least both sides had equal technological abilities.]

What kind of rewards? [Starscream's idea is interesting, but Thundercracker doesn't have any experience in warfare of this kind. Subterfuge has always been more of his brother's specialty.]

Precisely. [He nods.]

Let me put it this way: have you ever talked to anyone who's been outside the boundaries of the Offworld Zones?
