Do you know how many times I get stuck behind these darn trains! I see people hangin out there tacking pictures or just observing the trains. I drove right by you the other day! If your familiar with the Renassiance Faire (That takes place in the front part of Glen Helen Regional Park), then you'll know where I've been hanging out for the pat week! We have to tear down the whole Faire site and move it Irwindale. It suck sucks Big ASS!! But any way, Great pics of the trains. I think I'll go ahead and check out the LAX pics now. I'll definatly keep an eye out for ya around at Joe's Cafe!!
Sorry to hear about the moving of the faire, that sounds like a pain in the ass. You should learn to love the trains, then you will be happy when you get stuck behind them!
We should go to Devore, you can catch trains at the Devore crossing (where all these pics were taken) then chase them down old route 66 for a couple miles. Then go back to Devore and do it all over it again.
I never get any decent plane pictures, mine all suck. Since 9-11, it's not much of a good idea to stand within a mile of an airport with a camera. (Hell we have HumV's with patriot rocket launchers on the back near all the airports!) I'd say every plane shot I have is no less than 500' in alt, with a 300mm lens! Sigh.
Even though I wear a "Airliner Photography is not a Crime" t-shirt i've never really had a problem taking pictures at Airports but I have heard some horror stories. Both LAX and John Wayne (SNA) have 'spots' the photographers hang out most of the time, I never really explore from there in fear of getting shot by a sniper ;)
Yeah keeping in mind one of the planes that was jacked on 9-11 hadn't come from the west coast. They are so bad here, that railfanning can get you detained now. I had issues even when I was still a RR cop with my badge!
