Myself and Colin

They're about ready to wrap up the first series. His very first proper job as well...an almost legit actor. Bradley had abused his rights to a camcorder and ran around, making really silly videos, if anything to entertain himself, his co-workers, and possibly whoever was dim enough to actually watch them and make weird faces at their attempts at ( Read more... )

Colin knew he was kind of pushing it having three things going at once. It wasn't too terrible though. Merlin was just wrapping up, he had one or two more days filming Doctor Who, and he rehearsals for his new play were starting so he would have that in the down time before season 2 of Merlin. They only overlapped for a little while, and he could handle that.

"Wake me when we get close to London." He said to Bradley before positioning a pillow against the window and resting on it. Colin was a little tired. They'd had a long night filming yesterday, woke up early today, and he needed to go meet with the others to start practicing for the play as soon as they reached London. He wanted to get some of his lines memorized before they started rehearsing in a couple days. He had four days off from Merlin, two of which he'd rehearse, then he'd go meet up with Bradley and Katie again to finish wrapping up, and the day after he had to go down to Cardiff to wrap up Doctor Who. There wasn't much time to spare, so a nap in between was necessary.

"Oh yeah, gotcha covered, mate." Bradley smiled at him before pulling out the Nintendo DS that he filched from Tony. He'll give it back...eventually. Probably when series 2 starts up. Maybe. Hopefully. Anyway, it was brilliant. He booked a hotel in Paris for the week, called ahead and asked if Colin's play had an understudy to take care of things, and googled all the vegetarian restaurants that didn't make people sick.

And while Colin was being a weird vegetable, he could go explore Paris on his own. The pidgin French he picked up when they filmed in Pierrefonds had to account for something, right? As the train rolled on, Bradley found himself falling asleep as well, trying to keep an ear out for their stop.

After several hours of travel, the announcement was finally made in English and French. Bradley owlishly blinked away and looked at his watch. Well, not everything had to be perfect. He yawned and reached over to shake Colin's shoulder. "Oi, you. Get up. I've got a bit of a surprise for you."

Colin yawned and blinked up at Bradley. What did the announcement say? He groaned and stretched a little before rising from his seat. "Surprise?" Colin asked, going for his bag. "Be quick. I've got to get going."

The announcement was made again and Colin looked at the speaker, obviously more then an little confused. That had to be wrong because he was fairly sure that said France. He was meant to be in London. He looked to his watch and stared wide eyed at Bradley. "What - You were s'possed to wake me. I have to - I have rehearsals! My ticket wasn't even for France. I've got to get back-"

Colin fumbled with his phone, pressing buttons furiously to start apologizing and rescheduling.

He reached over and grabbed the phone, easily playing keep away from the lanky man. "Ah ah ah. I've already rang up your director and he understood. Your understudy was chuffed to bits that you weren't going to turn up. You, mate, are going on holiday."

Bradley smiled at his ingenious plan. "I've gotten you a few days off and in Paris. Don't worry, I looked. There's places that'll cater to even your weird allergies, Morgan." He relaxed back in his seat. Really, he felt like he was far too nice a chap sometimes. But it made him glad when he was able to look out for his mates like this. And Colin was his mate. Especially after spending the past couple of months with him. "You'll hardly even notice I'm there. No healthy and sane person goes out and does three gigs at once, Morgan."

Bradley's teeth chattered. He didn't think it would be possible to be colder but damn! He pulled his jacket tighter around himself. No one ever told him past Dublin, it was freezing! Still. He wanted to do this. His mates sort of hated him for it and teased the hell out of him as to who or what was waiting in some tiny shack town called Armagh. 'How the hell do you even pronounce that?!' After a few pints, it became the game of the night but not why Bradley was shivering at the metro station.

His fingers dug out his mobile and dialed the familiar number.

C'mon, Col. Pick up...

Colin dug his phone out from wherever it was, lost in his sheets ringing at him. It was getting kind of late. Who would be - He smiled a little at Bradley's name lit up bold across the screen. "Can't sleep?"

He'd been curled up in bed reading, wrapped up in his blankets, but talking to Bradley was obviously better then that. It had been weeks since he'd seen him last, and Colin would admit he missed the other. "I've missed you."

"It's December 31st, C-C-C-Col." Bradley chattered. "Guess where I am. I think m'fngers are turning blue. It's got to be a few below zero here!" And the metro station was completely fully of holiday travellers moving back and forth, trying to get to New Years Eve parties on time.

"So go inside before you get sick." He scolded. Colin sat up in bed, a little confused as to why Bradley was obviously out in the freezing cold, until in finally set it. "You're not - "

He stood and peered out his window, then went out to the front door. Nothing. That was silly. Why would Bradley leave home and his friends to come all the way to Ireland for new years? "What's all that noise in the background? Where are you?"
