most of us are aware that you can do things in PS in around 1000 different ways with practically the same output if you only know what you are doing... it's what I love most about me beloved Erich ( Read more... )

When you went onto 'that exclusion look', did you use the original cap or the edited cap?

I used the cap after the basic improvements I'm always doing before I start the coloring (screen layers, auto-contrast and all these things...)

Always look forward to your tuts. I've played with Curves (just on the main RGB curve not the specific colors) before but will test some of these tips out later. =)

aww, thanks :)
most things are only playing anyway but it helps a lot when we understand what our tools actually do *g* and what to do to get a certain result...

Fantastic Tutorial. I am adding this to my memories since unfortunately I can't try it out for a few days (my display driver took a dive this weekend). I can especially use the tips about the curves - cause to be honest, curves scare me and I tend to avoid them.

Thanks for this and I can't wait to see the next one as well.

glad you find it helpful :)

and no need to be afraid of Curves. they are not worth it ;)
whatever technique you're comfortable with is what you should be using... there are one million ways to do everything anyway *g*

I only have Phtoshop Elements, so it takes me a while longer to work out what I'm doing and applying your tutorials. You are an excellent teacher, though!

Very helpful Blue. I use color layers to get those results, I really don't use the levels because I tend to ruin the cap, but you pointed me in the right direction. Thanks!
