Even though I am in the U.S., I often don't watch shows the day they are aired, thanks to Tivo. I agree with you completely. Heck I was spoiled for the Jack/Kate kiss on Lost by people posting icons after they aired on the east coast, but still hour before it aired here in California. And that wasn't even in a community, it was someone's personal icon.
I have left most fandom communities for that reason. I prefer to talk about things on my flist anyway.
normally I don't even look at the icon comms when I'm afraid of getting spoiled, but whenever I do take a look (and it was only because I wanted to link to my last icon batch *g*) I get so angry. it's not hard to choose some non spoilery icons as previews... but people are attention whores who never think of others... therefore they post without thinking. I hate that so much.
fandom would be such a happier place with a little bit of politeness... *sigh*
I agree with you 100%. Sometimes I think LJ has the most rude/discourteous people around. Like they all come together here. It's quite sad that people can't follow simple rules and common courteouesies. I admit, I'm not perfect at the spoilers, I've had my moments unfortunately, but I've also learned from them and try to avoid them now cause I know better. some people just don't care I think.
some people just don't care I think. yeah, sadly I have to agree. and I don't like these kind of people. at all.
it's nice when people get excited about their shows, most of us are here for fandom reasons... but it doesn't take much to be at least a tiny bit thoughtful and respect others.
nobody is perfect witht he spoilers I guess *g* but at least we can all try. that's the least we should do...
Aw, hugs from the fangirl inside of us all. I am soo sorry about that hun. You are too nice for them. ;) LOL @ the "ugly icon".
I am not a big lost person, just because I rarely watch tv, but if it had been during the Buffy days (or One Tree Hill *tee hee*) I would have been super peeved.
And ya I have noticed that politness has become out of fashion on Livejournal, quite a tragedy.
at least I've already seen the VMars episode I was talking about this time, so it wasn't me who got spoiled through the icons, but I still hate these posts. they are thoughless and respectless and rude.
LOL @ the "ugly icon". that's the still angry fangirl in me speaking *g*

It happened to me too. Even if the episode aired 12 hours ago in the US, I think is a matter of courtesy to put your opinions, caps, icons, etc behind a lj-cut. Anyway, there are the ones that doesn't think like that, there are groups/communities that say that there is no longer an spoiler after the show is aired in the east coast.
What is terrible is that people don't read the community's rules.
