So, I recently started Landmark's Self Expression and Leadership course. This course is all about developing yourself by creating a community project. I've begun brainstorming what I want to do, and my coach recommended that I start by listing 10 things that I really care about and love, and start from there. So, here is my list ( Read more... )

Fair enough. I guess what I am looking for is any ideas that anyone (including you) may have as to how to go about implementing them, or any pitfalls that you see with any of them. I am looking for honest opinions, and insights or experience that any of my amazing friends might have that I lack due to my different experience.

Also, do any of these ideas particularly move you or excite you in any way? I want to take on something that not only seems fun and worthwhile, but something that my friends would be proud of me for doing/taking on. I want to make this project something that I can tell my family, friends, and even kids about in my later years as one of the greatest things that I ever did in my life.

Awesome ideas! I think stick with veterans and/or families of vets for two reasons, (1) the children's hospital thing is already done a lot, and (2) working for the army I see that there is a lot of need. Any of the ideas sound great, though I echo the thoughts of lizzibabe on e-readers.

If you want to go the route of helping survivors, I work with a woman who is a surviving spouse and is active in the survivor community and might be able to provide contacts.

I also really like the idea of sending books and/or games to the troops overseas. I bet they would really appreciate something like that.
