[So. Scott's been oddly quiet lately. Oddly for him. Truth be told? He'd gotten whited out, and is feeling pretty down. Plus, he's still injured. But now! He's on the network, using it as a DISTRACTION.
You see, he's got a Riolu who he wants to evolve, when he leaves to train again. The problem? Well, listen and see. Scott's looking pretty relaxed ( ( Read more... )

[Yes. This is the best solution. CLEARLY.] Well... they seemed pretty happy when we played videogames together, or when we were practicing for the band... but... thinking back on it, I'm not sure.

It's just... I've spent so much time here, in the world of Pokemon, away from them. I'm having a bit of trouble remembering the sort of things they liked. [Scott? Homesick? I never thought I'd see the day. No, seriously!]

How about trying to find some things your pokemon enjoys doing?

...But how'd I do that? Samus confuses me.

Have you tried just asking what they would like to do? They are surprisingly easy to understand sometimes.

...I didn't think of that, y'know. So, Samus!
[Have a Riolu sitting just off-camera. Mario is a good camera-Furret.]
Uh... what do you like?
[Ri! Riolu! Riii! is all Scott can hear. It's trying to tell him it likes relaxing and looking nice. Also, having everything ever. That too.]
I don't get it. Do you?

[Checking in on that Riolu he gave you, Scott.]

Do you let her stay out and run around when she's not battling?

Yeah, I let her out whenever I can. I've just been... busy lately, and have had to have my main team with me most of the time. [He does not feel good about himself right now kthx.]

[Envy notices that Scott seems down, but hell if he knows what to do about it. He's satisfied with the answer though.] Hmm, well if you're in Goldenrod now, I've heard taking them to those haircut people in the Underground makes them like you more. And mine all like getting treats.

Haircut people... those weirdoes in the underground? They're... weird!

[Here's a woman that Scott may or may not (but probably would) recognize (if he's as big of an XMen fan as he claims to be, anyway-). Ororo here is just curious at how he's worded his message. She's still pretty new to Route, and all these Pokemon shenanigans are still a little bit beyond her, to be honest.]

Pardon me for asking, but how would battle make one of these Pokemon happier? Do they all enjoy such activities?

[Oh yes. He knows her. And he gives a smile -- that fanboy smile he gives now and again.]
Well, some of them really enjoy it -- like Knuckles, or Mario. But some of them don't like it -- I guess it depends on the Pokemon.

Mm, that does make sense. [Even regular animals are like that; she should've known.] I apologize, I just find it bizarre to think that these creatures would enjoy that kind of violence. [because that's what it is, you know. D:]

This world is pretty weird, if you haven't played the old games. Or even if you have -- I wonder why they enjoy the fighting?

Maybe you should cook for your pokemon. After all, the quickest way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. I can't imagine it's all that different for pokemon.

...Cooking, huh? I'm pretty good at that.

Well see? There ya go! Give it a shot. I can guarantee it'll help make you pokemon happier.

I think I'll try that.

...When I'm allowed out of here.
[He's got a Furret making sure he doesn't leave the room. And a Charmander. How intimidating.]
