Jungle exploring!

May 19, 2012 02:06

Eiji ~ ! Let's go explore the jungle together! I need to disarm some traps laid down by a certain island-man. I mean, we haven't done anything in a while, so let's have some fun. We can climb trees, too! There's lots of trees.

And vines. Let's swing like Tarzan. Has anyone tried that yet?Oh, and who is going to watch the solar eclipse? I will! ( Read more... )

I would love to come watch the eclipse (:

Ahh, Hiyoshi told me to be careful of the jungle, not to walk too far into it. He wouldn't tell me why though. But if he's warning me about something I think he might have a good reason to?

You be careful though! Especially if you're planning on swinging on vines; you might not be able to tell very well if they are secure or strong enough!

I don't envy you (: But when you look at the results, all of you improved so much upon returning, right? Something must have worked, even if it's only riling you up and making you indignant enough that you refuse to let nothing get in your way. ...But that is sort of mean. It might not have been that ( ... )

I could have trained that much on my own! There were plenty of other, less mortifying ways, to train. Ah well, it's in the past now. Now I actually uphold a training schedule which helps me out with my tennis.

Ahhh, that sounds good right about now. Cozy beds, hot food, hmmhmm. At least you managed to train for tennis!

You mean one of those RV buses, or campers? Oh those, yeah that's like a portable home! Nothing at all like sleeping down in the dirt with all the bugs, and roasting your own game. I've never been on one of those though; sounds like fun. Like a mini-home.

Hey, did you know that adding salt to chocolate milk makes it tastes better? Or putting salt on melon? I know, sounds strange, but it intensifies the flavour or something. You should try it next time!

You're right, there can't be anyone who could hate my awesomness! But maybe they're jealous and want to get me out of the way?

At least you came out of it with a good story to tell? (: And we all got to play at the end, all of us together fighting to represent the country. It was fun and I'm glad I got to be a part of it. ...Cozy bed, hot food and all, haha.

Yes, one of those~ My mother doesn't like dirt and bugs, but still wanted to be there for the whole 'family' thing so we would rent one instead of camping in a tent. It's a bit too nice-- pull out bunk beds and a kitchen right next to it, it was hard to leave the comforts of 'home' and go outside, even if that defeated the whole idea of camping in the first place.

I've heard of that, but was always reluctant to try it. Does it really work? I've had salt on cantaloupe once but the salt hit first and then the sweetness, and I didn't like it very much. But I'll give it another go; they say tastes change as you grow up, so maybe~

Awesomeness isn't a competition (: Everyone is awesome in their own way, aren't they?

Eh, I guess so, it's been years now, so it doesn't really matter to me anymore. But yeah, we did get to play.

She sounds like my mother, haha. She doesn't really want to leave home and go on trips either (my dad isn't that fond of it either). So maybe she would have gone out if we had one of those campers. Unfortunately, we never had one. They look expensive.

Well, you shouldn't put on that much salt - but it does work! It's a little strange, and not for everyone, but it does intensify the taste. I wonder who came up with that ... ?

Hmmhmm, but some people are more awesome than others! But those are usually egocentric people. Like Atobe.

Ah, it's around ten thousand or so a day to rent, I think, depending on what sort you get. But we didn't go all that often, since my parents were usually busy and I had school and music taking up my time.

Just the tiniest bit of salt is already very strong; the difference is just too great, haha. I suppose someone like Inui-kun, playing around with edibles, created such an idea (:

Egocentric people are more awesome because they make it known? Sometimes it's the quiet ones you've got to watch out for though~ I'm sure Atobe will be pleased you think he's awesome ;)

Ten thousand Yen, ow, I can already feel it hurting in my wallet (not like I could ever afford that, mind you). I see you talking about music a lot, but I wonder; where does tennis come in? Wait, let me rephrase that; why did you start tennis?

I can see Inui experimenting and finding it out by accident, definitely! Now I have to wonder what the hell he was doing with salt and drinks ...

Wait, I think I said that wrong. I meant, egocentric people think they're awesome, since they're clouded by their own judgment, and will loudly proclaim they're awesome. Yeah, that's what I meant, haha. Quiet people can be quite scary, you never know what they're thinking.

What, no! I don't think he is! Argh, I messed up my words.

Oh, tennis lessons were just something I was enrolled in when I was younger, like piano was. Music, sports, a bit of theater; my parents thought it would be good for a child to be involved with many things while they are young. But I only started playing seriously when I entered the middle school division and had to pass through tryouts. How about you?

Perhaps he was trying to contrast tastes to bring the flavor of his juice out more? It worked with the cantaloupe (:

Quiet people likely believe themselves to be awesome as well; people in general like to think the best in themselves, there's no shame of it. Haha, it's all right. I'm only teasing~

Aha, so only since middle school huh (you were pretty good already!)? Do you still play tennis, or have you stopped completely? I've been playing since I can remember!

Who knows, I don't question Inui's motives - he writes every nonsensical thing down in his notebook as well.

I know a lot of quiet people who don't think too highly of themselves though. But they do tend to look down on other people, hmm. Eh, I can't relate too much with them; I'm an outgoing person. Good, good. Can't have Atobe think I somehow think he's awesome.

Haha, no, I learnt basic strokes and footwork before middle school, but it was only after then that I played to win games and move up in rank. Those sort of skills take practice. I don't play now as much though; can't risk a hand injury so close to graduation. But I can probably still hold a pretty good game~

That notebook would be a joy to read in later years though, to see what went on through one's mind way back. Have you ever kept a daily journal? I tried once, but stopped after my entries started looking like "I played tennis today." or "Today I practiced Mozart's Köchel 545."

That's curious. They don't think highly of themselves, but think themselves higher than others, so relatively, they think highly of themselves, right? Or something like that, haha. It's okay to think someone else is awesome!

That's a shame, I remember your serve being really good ... a bit wonky, but good if you managed to land it! I hope to play you again one of these days, if we get off this island and return safely.

Me? A journal? I was just about to say that I'd be terrible about it, but I guess I'm already keeping up a journal right now, aren't I? Before, I wouldn't have given it a thought, but it's quite useful now. Helps to let out some issues and stuff, I guess.

But a real-life journal like a diary I'd probably lose, haha.

I don't know, the logic is not making sense to me either! But I did know this one guy, who hated himself, but hated everyone else more? Something like that at least, he claimed to be 'emo' - whatever that means. I think you're a pretty awesome guy!

By high school, I was able to control my serves consistently well, but I've gotten better overall. That is, back in high school, haha, taking even the shortest break from tennis has probably already hurt my game.

Oh, right. I haven't been keeping up with mine as often as I should probably; I'm not too used to sitting down in front of a computer screen when I could be sitting down at the piano instead, but it does make it easier to share thoughts and catch up with people otherwise. If you've got "issues and stuff" to let out though, the best way is face-to-face with a person~ I'm always here if you need me (:

Yes, that's really strange. I couldn't imagine thinking like that... Have you talked with him? Asked what the problem could be?
Aw, thanks! (: You're pretty awesome yourself~

Too bad we didn't meet up during high school, huh? But yeah, to stay good at tennis, you'll have to uphold your training. Which reminds me ... I've been slacking off ever since I got on this cruise.

True, I'd be too busy trying to work/get a job/train than have time to post on a journal, but right now ... I've got all the time in the world. True, it's best to talk to people face-to-face, but nudging them over the journals to warn them is pretty convenient as well. And that's nice to know! Don't worry, I'm issue free at the moment, haha.

Hell if I know what his problem was, he was always mopey, didn't really respond anytime I tried to talk to him, or just flat out ignored me. It was a guy I knew back when I was still in college (dropped out after a while though), and at first I thought he hated me, but other people said he acts that way to everyone else. He might have been depressed - who knows. Can't ask him now anymore, and frankly, I don't care either haha. I've got real friends I need to worry about! We're two pretty awesome ( ... )

It would have been fun~ Did you end up playing singles or doubles? Or a mix of both?
Training comes in all sort of ways. You've been lifting and building and hiking and all sorts of things, right? Every little bit counts.

Being issue free is good! And you seem like the type of person to speak his mind anyways, so I probably don't have to worry about you holding things inside and letting things fester (:

Mmnn~ I feel bad that he lived like that; people deserve to be happy.

I played doubles quite a lot, and rather enjoy it, but it was mostly singles after middle school because I couldn't find any good partners anymore. I miss that; having someone who knows how you play, and your styles just mesh - like magic! But that sounds sappy, so let's pretend I said something deeply philosophical.

Haha yeah, from my numerous odd side-jobs, I've gotten quite the work-out. It made me all muscle and bones; muscle from working out, and bones because I didn't eat enough. It's a strange combination. Now, there are some people who actually have a training schedule ... remember Kaidoh? He was crazy with training, he ran 10 kilometers every single day! Insane! Though you gotta admire the dedication ( ... )

Oh, I get that. Given enough time you can become familiar with someone, but meeting someone and all of the sudden 'click'ing, now that's rare. Haha, magic is just how it feels sometimes!

Oh, yes! I remember him; we've played a match against each other at Kantou. Every day? Wow, I can maybe do around half of that on a day where I've got the time, but those days are rare now too. Meaning at home, of course, there's not much to do here, it might be good to get back into running.

Only my violin because it was a personal possession, something very dear to me. And there was no way I could have gotten the orchestra piano out by myself, haha.
