Squeeeeee, this was so sweet. It's great to see how both Sherlock and Mrs. Hudson have such important roles in Abby's life.

“It's sparkly. Glitter is goniochromatic. That's why it's pretty.”

I laughed and laughed at this line. It’s perfect. I can see why John had trouble not laughing out loud at it. :)

I also really enjoyed John and Sherlock's awkward conversation about Sherlock coming to the recital. I was glad he was able to make it in the end. *hugs him and Abby* :) This is such a great verse!!!

That request was from me, and I'm glad to see it's yet another great story from you. It really hit home now, after I spent a summer teaching arts camp. My favorite parts were "Glitter is goniochromatic," and the rose Sherlock gave Abby at the end. Oh, and the conversation John and Sherlock had regarding the invitation: I love the fact that you allow Sherlock his "humanity," as you put it, but really just show that his personality doesn't exclude being considerate (when he wants to be). It's very in character for his wedding behavior (both here and on the show, which I think they stole from you). Oh, and yes, thanks for recognizing that one of the curses of a last name beginning with "W" is that you are always last in every line (I sympathize with you, John, I do).

Thanks for the Abby fics!

Happy to read another of your Sherlock stories! I can see him lurking in the doorway.

Can you believe I just found this tab again? I've had it open since the end of August but lost it in shuffling tabs! It's a lovely treat!

I laughed out loud at "goniochromatic." Then (after I'd finished the story), I looked it up. I had a hard time finding it! It's not in The Oxford English Dictionary. Google finally turned up a book on plastics explaining the word.

Sherlock totally told Molly, and Molly told him he had to get a rose, which had not previously crossed Sherlock's mind-I can just see it.

The argument about disappointing Abby was also fun.

I'm actually quite delighted to think one of my stories was important enough to keep the tab open that long! I'm glad you found it and enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting.

Goniochromatism is the more common word, I believe. It's another word for iridensence. It came up when I was looking for why things are iridescent for a different story and decided that's the word Sherlock would use.
