"One of her fingers was bent entirely wrong. It wouldn't be any help to her like that, so she grabbed it and yanked it back into place."
That is so Carter: other people might be dwelling on the pain (me!) ignoring it completely (Sherlock) but she just rationally considers the problem and fixes it, no matter what the cost.

I just want to apologize if you had to deal with my coding error. The story shouldn't have been completely in italics, I closed a tag wrong. I'm sorry if that made it hard to read! I've fixed it now.
Thanks very much for the reading and taking the time to comment.

I very much like that Peggy plays an active role in the rescue. She wouldn't be one to sit around, even if there are risks.

Dialogue between Peggy and Jarvis was the highlight of the show for me,
Me too. Peggy and Jarvis are my new platonic friend OTP, and it's nice to have a female/male friendship without romance in it. The show gave us so much in the way of non-traditional tropes; I loved it. I hope Peggy and Jarvis remained friends forever and had tea together regularly.

I had to keep putting in elements to prevent escape, because I wanted them to chat for longer. Peggy would have dug herself out much sooner, otherwise, I think. :-D
