YAYYYYY!

I'd been thinking about your Q-verse and wondering how on earth you could reconcile it, and wow, you did a great job. The logic is typical Sherlock logic: it makes sense on one level, but on others it's deeply flawed. Sherlock won't give up on the gypsies quip. And I hope it's many more years before Q gets to deliver that eulogy.

I also very much enjoyed the scene back at the office and all the Minions whose names Q doesn't bother to remember (if he's even allowed). I like his exchange with 007.

And of course Q immediately recognizes the Way Out.

I think I wrote this story to give someone the opportunity to yell at Sherlock, to be honest. But I'm glad it worked for you. I debated for awhile about how close to the canon to make this verse, but since my Abby verse is increasingly not canonical, I figured I might as well try to keep one of them close to what's 'real'.

My headcanon is that Q only knows your name if you are very talented, and if he does, it's basically something to put on a CV. Otherwise, you can be expected to be referred to as 'hey, you', and have fingers clicked at you when he wants you to do something.

They shook for about two seconds longer than a normal handshake, waiting.

Aahhhh, I love this. Because they both know. And Q politely calling him “Mr. Holmes” was wonderful.

Hee, Sherlock’s continued needling Q by saying he was abandoned by gypsies is precious.

What a great way to reconcile “His Last Vow” with this universe. I’m sure that Q is right about Mary, and his anger at Sherlock for not contacting him is wonderful. *happy sigh* And what a great way to incorporate the “Miss me?” part! Of course Q would have to deal with that and also instantly recognize that it’s a saving grace for Sherlock. Lovely!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a good time making the brothers a bit more brotherly, both to include the new found love between Sherlock and Mycroft on the show, and using the opportunity of Q and Sherlock believing its the last time they are going to see one another, so nothing needs to be hidden away. I've been trying to nudge my Trio brothers to a more healthy place.

I have to confess to being quite fond of that running joke myself. One thing I suspect Sherlock would actually be as an older brother is seriously incapable of letting anything like that go while it stills strikes a nerve. Especially if he can use it to be both annoying and affectionate at the same time.

I'm...glad the gypsies sent you to us.”

Ahahaha! Oh, Sherlock. I always love your Sherlock.

I love the sibling dynamics here with both Sherlock and Mycroft being the Big Brothers to Q who is so the youngest who always balks at being treated like he's five when he's a grown man.

Really lovely filling the gaps here between canon and your Q-verse!

The thing about Q that I always find quite interesting when I write him is that, in all other situations, he is calm and in control and the boss of things, but as soon as he gets in a room with Sherlock or Mycroft, he is a child. He turns into a child with them. I just find that really interesting from my authoring point of view.

Really lovely filling the gaps here between canon and your Q-verse!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It sort of poured out of me, so I'm glad it made sense. :-)
