OTP Meme (Sort of)

Sep 19, 2013 22:06

I was having trouble integrating Alec into the rest of the verse, and so I thought I'd try a writing exercise to help me get used to writing him. I remembered the 30 Day OTP Challenge meme things that goes around tumblr sometimes, and selected ten prompts to get myself going ( Read more... )

Awww! All of this was lovely. My particular favorites were #1 and #7. I love the detail of Alec being so bad with directions. He must never get to chaperone school field trips. And a whiny Sherlock is always fun. At least to the readers.

“But you haven't ordered pudding yet!” Sherlock whinged. “You're just sitting here, talking!”

He practically sounds panicked. Oh my god! SO. MUCH. MORE. TIME. LEFT.

I love these and hope to see more of Alec.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun with them, actually, I don't often write couply stuff. It was a pleasant change to do flat out shipping.

He gives his mobile to the little girls who have crushes on him and thus follow him very closely and lets them man the satnav.

LOL! And then he starts doing the puzzles on Abby's kids menu to keep himself from cracking up.

There is nothing funnier than the image of Sherlock dressed in his coat and scarf, bent over a kids menu with a crayon, furiously doing the puzzles.

Haha! I love the idea that Sherlock doesn't take his coat and scarf off, so he can escape easily. I can just picture him sitting at the end of the table with his arms crossed, looking more of a child than Abby, who is actually quite pleased to be there and get all the attention.

Oh this was really lovely! Molly and Alec are slowly beginning to be my OTP, too. Thank you!
Though poor Sherlock might also need a boyfriend to rescue him from stupid birthday dinners! :)

I swear I am more of a gen writer than anything, but apparently my inner romantic comedy is making an effort to run free, lately. I need Series Three. I'm out of regular canon to explore, so I only have my own.

Hehe! I think if he were really desperate, he'd find a way to rescue himself. But he might consider it a decent reason to actually try this whole 'dating' thing. :-)

“It's okay,” Molly said. “I'm good at waiting.”

Mmm, this is so romantic and also quite touching.

“Oh, that's adorable,” Sherlock said, with false glee.

Ahahaha, I can completely see Sherlock putting on his Normal Person persona for this. And complaining that he wanted to leave as well and that it wasn’t fair that he couldn’t-hahaha, wonderful. Plus, Sarah is amazing.

I’m also very charmed by Alec’s complete inability to navigate.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and Alec! I hope he'll cooperate for other stories, now. He and Molly's lives are a bit seperate from the rest of the characters, so finding a way to get him involved and how he might respond to everyone is a bit tricky.
