Scraping for an hour and a half? There has to be an easier way to remove dried grease. However, that job is hopefully done and you can continue with the restoration.

Yeah. Only got the front of the bus done as it was parked on a slope and the rear was too low to get under. Once we can get the bus on the road, we'll take it someplace and steam clean the underside. Great thing is, the bus has always been in southern Arizona, so it has absolutely no significant rust anywhere-just a little surface rust in spots. Can't drive it until we get the gas tank back from the shop and reinstalled. We cleaned it but can't easily recoat it as it has interior baffles. Inspection confirmed no defects other than two spots where damage had been repaired years ago. The repairs are still in good condition, so no worries.
Using the steam lance will blast off the loose stuff and loosen up the caked stuff. We'll still have to go under the bus, but it won't be as hard. Upper body gets a workout as the limited clearances make it hard to move using legs-gotta pull yourself around.
