[With the start of a new year - not to mention New Year's Eve passing again - and the cold weather, someone's been going a little stir-crazy lately. ...Mostly that middle statement, though. That's the second time that New Year's Eve has occurred since her awakening, and yet again what was supposed to happen didn't transpire.

It's starting to make ( Read more... )

[Well, not everyone's going to think that way. She's a bit surprised that he's the first one to say "no," though.]

Acknowledged.

[...Isn't this the guy who gave her false information a year ago, actually? Huh.]

[Hey the info wasn't entirely false, he had the right building, just the wrong floor.]

What about you then? If yer askin' a question like that, then ya must've been thinkin' a lot lately.

[And he lied about his name. Can't forget that.]

...Affirmative. There... is something Nu is unable to do in this world.

[Not to mention the lies during that time at the bar...]

Is it important that you get it done? Can't ya find happiness here instead?

awakenedchaos January 5 2011, 20:11:48 UTC
...Affirmative. It... is important. [She's not going to answer that other question.]

[He thinks for a moment.]

Is it important ta you, or to yer world?

[She doesn't respond immediately, as if she's not quite sure how to respond. Eventually, she settles for a simple:]

...Affirmative. [At least one of the two statements seems to be right. It... doesn't look like she wants to say which one, though.]

[He noticed that pause, deducting that whatever it must be is something she doesn't want to talk about.]

So ya have somethin' you can't accomplish, and are lookin' ta see if other people are in the same situation? Huh, I would've figured most people here would be in the same boat as you.

Ten people have... answered that they are in the same situation.

[That number's actually higher than what she had expected. There weren't that many people who still wanted to accomplish something back home anymore as far as she could tell. So this is... an interesting surprise, honestly.]

Only ten? I would've thought it applied to a good ninety or so percent of folks... huh. [He was under the impression that barely anyone would have the same answer he does.]

I won't ask what yer goal is, but does it bother ya that you can't complete it here? Is that why yer tryin' to find out if other people are the same?

There... may be others who have not responded to the inquiry.

[She pauses briefly before responding to the set of questions.]

...Affirmative. [That's exactly why, even.]

Thought so. In that case, I can't really blame ya fer being curious. Maybe ya'll find someone who has a goal similar to yours? Or somethin' related at least. But don't let it get ya down, ya'll get to accomplish it eventually, it'll just take a little longer 'cause yer stuck here first.

A similar... goal... [That'd be a good idea... if she hadn't already met someone with a similar goal. In fact, that's part of why the fact she hasn't been able to accomplish it has been bothering her so much.

That other bit is definitely a good point, though.]

...Understood. [It'll... just take a little longer. She just has to find a way around one particular issue...]
