Dear Friends --

Some times are better than others. And some days on the job, you takes your turn in the barrel. When the two meet, well, those are the days you just try to get by. From dear weymss, I learned that the Brits have a wonderful phrase: KBO, Keep Buggering On. Yanks, we just muddle through.

Yes, so far it's better. And tomorrow Jane turns 80, though we're celebrating on the weekend. Took a nice walk when I came home for lunch, and listened to the mountain stream and the wind in the apsens & the pines. Nice.

Happy Summer Solstice to you & yours!

i don't know why - but it made me quite happy to read more about your day and the trials of it. they way you are thinking 'and i think I have problems???'.

i think because it's a sign that your life is moving on - that your issues take screen time along with jane's.

i do hope that tomorrow is better for you though. truly.

*hugs*

That's a very nice & thoughtful way to put it! I think you may be right.

And today has been a better day, very much so, thank you.

Hope things go well w/ you & yours.

yes thankyou. we are all having a good day, too.

sing = sign

(obviously - but i'm a bit mental about leaving spelling mistakes. which makes no sense considering the grammar and punctuation ... but there you go)

And I'm just plain mental, so that's all right with me. Probably some sort of Freudian slip from my old days as a conductor & musicologist -- speaking of mental.

Happy early birthday to Jane!

I hope you're back improves. You have an amazing capability to handle such an emotionally draining occupation. But I admit that I never would have guessed that your lower back was at risk! (Aren't you guys supposed to have couches? Oh, wait, that's for the patients, right? ;-D)

Thanks for your early Happy Birthday, and for your good wishes for my back.

You have an amazing capacity to handle such an emotionally draining occupation.

Actually, raising children is much more draining most of the time. Parents, now, that's an emotionally draining job. And I fear that, with my training, couches aren't part of the furniture. Most family therapists definitely have couches -- and in many ways, I'm a family therapist -- but I've always preferred different types of chairs, particularly those that can move. It lets the family sculpt itself for me freshly, not only when they're in my office, but while they're in my office.

But I'm weird that way.

Actually, I'm weird in many ways, as my children & grandchildren will attest!

And good wishes returning to you, dear sophierom.

Hi Avus, it's so good to hear from you; I haven't been around as much lately so I think I have missed some of your posts.

I don't envy you your job, but I am thankful that you and others like you are out there doing it. And I hope that your clients find some peace and happiness.

Take care of that back, and wish Jane Happy Birthday!
