I am so late. I am finishing the second part - I had some problems with characters and the flow.

My mother can stop a bolting horse

Hee! That's probably the only Nekrasov reference I'm going to get. [goes back to reading]

The other one is a quote from "Thoughts at a Vestibule"

...Этот стон у нас песней зовется... ;)

My world was night and never-ending war, but there was another war alongside mine, quiet, stubborn, fought by people - just people, actually. I had the strength, the skill, and the considerable sense of self-importance…

They had only their determination to keep this city alive.

I love this story's premise. And I like how it's turned out so far. Plus, I'm a sucker for historical and folklore references.

Glad you like it. It is a fun to write, though I wish I would finish it already.

I'm really enjoying this. :-) I like the sense of place. I'm guessing you've done a lot of research - it really shows.

Thank you. It really was a lot of research, and given that Petersbug is the city I was born in, I didn't want to make it sketchy, so I spent a lot of time researchy weirdest things. Glad that it is working out.
