I don't see the epitaphs there much (I am talking about Mount Pleasant cemetery here), but I do love looking at names and imagine the people and their lives..
Our local cemetery is the best place for a walk. The grounds are very well maintained, with sawdust paths, lots of shade, wildflowers, an excellent view of the hills, an Egyptian Revival style masoleum, historical markers (city founder and Oregon's first governor are buried here, also all the people who have streets named after them). OMG, I sound like an advertising brochure. But it's true! The more people walk there, the less shady activity takes place. There's one downside, however - it's a neighborhood gossip mill (thankfully I'm not often involved).
Sadly we don't have any cute groundhogs. Only very нахальныe squirrels.
We have there lots and lots of squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons and such, not to mention various birds I don't know. and lots of people not yet dead - walking, jogging and cycling. :)
I love walking in cemeteries! When I was young my grandmother lived next door to one and my brother and I would play in it as long as there weren't any funerals.
