I was hoping to have some smut ready to post today, the next vignette in my 'All He Ever Wanted' series but then RL got in the way, with a vengeance, squashing my muses flat, along with any hope of getting it done in time.

I really love how you capture the Trio's dialogue, especially Harry's.
It was not the most eloquent statement in the world, but this was Harry.
It's in the way it was conveyed, how you wrote it, that you can actually feel his gratitude and the underlying want in that small statement (at least, I could feel it, anyway...).

There was much less laughter and a lot more hanging around in the library when Hermione was your best friend.
(Actually, reading that, it suggests that Hermione hadn't been Harry's 'best friend' until he was estranged from Ron and only she was left. Nuts.)
Anyway, maybe that's something you're going to address here? You've certainly got Hermione concentrating on Harry learning how to laugh again. Hmm.

That has to happen in any decent H/Hr story; particular the Harry-growing-up side of things. :-)

Noted. :-)

Not really coherent right now, but I enjoyed it. It feels very real for them just afterwards.
