The second part of 'Someday'. (You can read the first part
here.)
Sadly, can't promise when I'll next have anything ready to post as classes are about to start up again in a week and RL is going to keep be busy until then. But I'll try!

And more importantly, they taught me about friendship and bravery and loyalty.
Yay! You brought in my favourite quote (again)!
But oh noes!!! Present!Hermione filled that strategic gap of her original utterance - "friendship and bravery and ____" - with ... 'loyalty'?
LOYALTY?
Hermione, Hermione, Hermione ... there's a much better word ... which starts with the same letter ... that you can substitute in that place! Silly girl.
He wanted unconditional support and unconditional loyalty.

I think I'm starting to like madderbrad. The two of you really tear DH a new one, and after re-reading through it some time ago (when I started writing 'Then and Now'), I'm slowly starting to get disappointed with it (aside from the obvious fact that our OTP was not to be...).
I enjoyed this chapter because it emphasizes the fact that Harry's not perfect (even in fanfiction). Yes, he's a git, and I'll agree that he's going through some issues (forget issues, he's got a full subscription), and keeping said mental baggage to oneself will lead to a breakdown, or something akin to it.
